Cisco UCS Monitoring

Cisco UCS has an XML API for monitoring performance and management. Cisco UCS is designed for dynamic, scalable, and highly virtualized data centers and cloud environments. There are a number of chassis metrics that can be monitored on UCS including fans, power supplies, and blade servers.

Traverse integrates seamlessly with UCS platforms for monitoring, as well as monitoring of vBlock components. Alerts are fed into the Event Manager, and metrics such as temperature, etc. are polled constantly to see if they are within limits.

Scalability

Cisco UCS environments are usually very large and have a very large number of Virtual machines and blades. Centralized monitoring platforms cannot keep up with these fast growing, large IT environments, however, a distributed scalable model such as Traverse's DGEs can easily monitor each and every component of Cisco UCS and its servers and the Virtual machines running on them.
